"4 Ways to Demolish a Building"

The choice of method to demolish a building is dependent on some factors, but no matter which, safety for the crew and surroundings is essential. Here are four methods.

First, the most dramatic one – by implosion. Often used for large structures in urban areas, it requires comprehensive planning for explosives to tear buildings down.

Second, by the high reach arm. A demolition tool is attached to a base machine, and buildings are broken up from the top down. Like the next method, this is common for removing tall buildings, but safer.

Third, there is the traditional, common wrecking ball. It requires skilful operators and creates environmental pollution.

Fourth, selective demolition, or “strip-out”. Increasingly popular, it allows recycling and reusing of the materials for new structures. However, it lacks efficiency.
